Matthew Reilly - The contest

Yet another good book I've read.
For this book, it was an occurrence that i come across this book. The name Matthew Reilly was 'recommended' by someone and i instantly went to my nearest library to look for his books.
I could only found 2 of his books. "The contest" & "Area 7". I decided to borrow "The Contest".

I did not manage to put the book down. It was so fast paced with lots of action that i continued reading. I finished the book in a day.

Here's the outline of the book.

"For Doctor Stephen Swain and his daughter, Holly, it is the site of a nightmare.Because for one night this historic building is to be the venue for a contest.A contest in which Swain is to compete - whether he likes it for not.
The rules are simple:Seven contestants will enter, only one will leave.
With his daughter in arms, Stephen Swain is plunged into a terrifying flight for survival. The stakes are high, the odds are brutal. He can choose to run, to hide or to fight - but if he wants to live, he has to win.
For in this contest, unless you leave as the victor, you do not leave at all."

It is a little bit of sci-fi - out of this word experience. I enjoyed reading it. I hope you feel the same way as i did. Happy reading~

Dan Brown - Angels and Demons

Many would think of The Da Vinci Code book whenever i mention Dan Brown. I thought of the opposite. I find that this book is much better and the quest is much more interesting. Don't get me wrong, i liked both Angels and Demons and Da Vinci Code. I only prefer to read Angels and Demons thats all.

Here's the outline of this book.

"World-renowed Harcard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to a Swiss research facility to analyze a crptic symbol seared into a chest of a murdered physicist. What he discovers is unimaginable: a deadly vendetta against the Catholic Church by a centuries-old underground organization - The Illumanti. Desperate to save the Vatican from a powerful time bomb, Langdon joins forces in Rome with the beautiful and mysterious scientist Vittoria Vetra. Together, they embark on a frantic hunt through seled crypts. dangerous catacombs, deserted cathedrals, and the most secretive vault on earth... the long - forgotton Illumanti lair."

In any case, this always reminds me of National Treasure which i loved the movie. Oh...
Heard that this is going to be converted into a movie as well.

Hope u can find this book in the library. I didn't manage to find any copies in the library for this. I borrowed this book from a friend and it's still with me now... I think he forgot about it too. Anyway, i can be sure i will return it...

...someday..?

Jeffrey Archer - Shall we tell the president?

Another book i've read few years ago was this book.
After reading much of Jeffrey Archer's book, i found that most of his stories are quite political track. That's why i stopped at this book. This story has a little bit of mystery in it but mainly it is still much of a political war.

Here's a brief outline of the story.

"At 7.30 one evening the FBI learn of a plot to kill the president - the 1572nd such threat of the year. At 8.30 five people know all the details. By 9.30 four of them are dead.

FBI agent Mark Andrews alonw knows when. He also knows that a senator is involved. He has six days to learn where - and how. Six days to prevent the certain death of the President."

If you are interested, there's always the library. Do note there are different covers as well.I bought it for $17.00 though...
This book consists of only 248 pages. I believe it can be read within a day.
Enjoy reading~

Jeffrey Deaver - The Vanished Man

Hi, updating on a book i read some time ago.
It's called "The Vanished Man".

Here is the sypnosis of the book.

" A killer flees the scene aof a homocide at a prestigious music school and locks himself in a classroom. Within minutes, the police have him surrounded. There's a shout from inside, followed by a gunshot. The police break down the door. The room is empty."

Interesting? Doesn't it? I read this book partly because i am into magic and this book revolves around a murder case that a person vanishes from a sealed/lock room. How does he do it? Im afraid you will have to read it yourself to find out.

Bought this book at Kinokuniya at a price of $16.75.

You can always go to the library though. Do note there are different covers for this. Have a nice read!

Blog Skins.

These few days.. i keep changing my blog skin.. It seems that there are a lot of nice ones to choose but i just can't seem to make up my mind. A nice skin will always look better and more interesting even if i am to read my own blog myself.

For now, i think i will just stick to this. I might change it though.

Start of a new blog.

Why start a new blog?

I was always wanting to continue blogging since i stopped blogging some time back but if i am to continue using the old blog address, there will be a big 'lag time' from that blog. Another reason of not blogging is i find it repetitive and usual.

So this new blog will be something new, something interesting but at the same time..boring to alot of people as i decided to do a reading blog~!

This idea came to me after i saw one "friend" did a blog that holds his collection of music instruments that he tried to play. I thought about it and instead of putting down what music instruments i play ( *I can't play music instruments!*), i decided to create a blog that holds my reading list.. that is what books/novels i've read since young. It was just plain fun anyway~

So.. hope i can recommend some good books to those who likes/loves reading.
