The Lost Symbol.

Here's another book that I read recently, " The lost Symbol' by Dan Brown.. Remember "Da Vinci Code" and "Angels and Demons"? Yupz, another book from him...Not until my friend, Keith mentioned it to me during one of our meetings, I would never know.. haha.

This is the first book that I read using an iphone! It feels a bit weird at first, as one has to click on the next page instead of flipping the actual pages... but since I don't wish to buy it, and Keith is probably still reading it now... might as well!

Nice tension, around 530 odd pages.. I didn't expect myself to read it so fast either. Anyway, there're two covers and oh.. expect another christianity stuff on these... interesting ending though as well as the codes and stuffs~

(I like cover 1!)

Synopsis:
"As the story opens, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned unexpectedly to deliver an evening lecture in the U.S. Capitol Building. Within minutes of his arrival, however, the night takes a bizarre turn. A disturbing object--artfully encoded with five symbols--is discovered in the Capitol Building. Langdon recognizes the object as an ancient invitation... one meant to usher its recipient into a long-lost world of esoteric wisdom.

When Langdon's beloved mentor, Peter Solomon--a prominent Mason and philanthropist--is brutally kidnapped, Langdon realizes his only hope of saving Peter is to accept this mystical invitation and follow wherever it leads him. Langdon is instantly plunged into a clandestine world of Masonic secrets, hidden history, and never-before-seen locations--all of which seem to be dragging him toward a single, inconceivable truth."

The abstract-ness of Singapore-Stone writings.

Can you decipher the messages hidden within? No one could. Even if it's a clear picture.

Long time.

It's really been quite long that I uploaded some pictures. Not that I have no inspiration, but all the pictures are in the memory card and simply too lazy to upload them.. hahaz...

Well, been learning how to tweak and trying out some features, here's one picture that I kinda liked it.

Tea Anyone?

June 15; Wife's Birthday!

Happy Birthday Dear! This is our first celebration of your birthday as husband and wife! Many more good centuries to celebrate from now on as hubby and wife! Yeah!

First stop, City Hall.
Wait a minute.. what is this? Macaroni with soup?!?!

Hey hey... Mcdonalds Tea??!? (@e^*&^)*&*^)

Okok.. before anyone starts bashing me up for ill-treating my wife... This is so called a stomach-filler for the best part of the birthday programme~
Morton's Steakhouse!

Before going there... We stopped by "COACH" and of course being the birthday gal, there's certainly a present waiting for her inside...
Look how happy she is!
Look how big the carrying bag is, now imagine the bag.
Now imagine the price... Opps.*

*Coach bag is not shown to for surprise*

Then off to Morton's SteakHouse for our fine dining session!
You will be greeted by this gigantic centerpeice at the lobby of Mandarin Oriental.

Located at a hidden corner of Mandarin Oriental level 4, (*and I do mean really hidden*), the ambience and service provided there is fantastic! Dinner is served by a personal waitress who thoroughly explains everything on the menu (*Memorising*) and shows you the different cut steaks available. Any questions, just ask the waitress.

Since I had placed my reservation before turning up, the staff prepared our very own personalised menus~!
Now, let's take a look at the surroundings... the whole place is very dimly lighted but I managed to take a shot at it. This is the place where we sat. Big table, ample space.

Lots of wine to choose from! Their list is looooooong... Certified to hold the best wine here. Do try it~One giant loaf of onion bread is instantly presented onto the table once you get seated down. Yes, "Giant". Do not attempt to finish it. You will not be able to enjoy yr main dish(Entree).

When you sliced the bread, out comes the aroma of onions, very tempting to finish it all~ But like I said.. Don't.. you will puke at the end of the dinner.

Well, after a while, Here's my main dish which I ordered, "Porter's steak". Huge and big steak. Very big serving.
Too tempted to try it before taking a picture of it. Opps again*.

Here's what my wife ordered, Lobster Tail! Fantasically good! Baked to perfection! Yummy~

And guess what! Birthday gal gets a free dessert of our choice! Certainly, we ordered the Morton's house special, Chocolate cake with hot chocolate fudge inside with vanilla ice-cream from Hagen Dazz. Yummy!

Simply delicious~
Here's my beautiful birthday wife making a wish~

All and such, the servings, portion, everything was so huge that wife and I nearly puked while eating. At the end of this fine dining, another mouthful of food and out goes everything! BURPPPP~

Before leaving the restaurant, another surprise! The staff took a picture of us and printed it out, again just for my precious birthday gal~ Wonderful~ (*At that moment, I thought I was charged for it...but hey! It's free~*HHAHAHAHA)

Pose and smile~!

Overall, A fantastic dinner with a fantastic wife~
I will definitely go again with my wife again~ On another special occasion perhaps?
Happy Birthday dear~! ('(oo)') OINK!

JL.

P.S. Total spendings + Coach bag = *CENSORED*
NOTE: Mortons Steakhouse is not cheap. So's the bag. Haha~ However, it was all worth it for that beautiful smile on my wife's face~ Hope you loved the planning and everything dear~!

Rare ocassion.

A once in a blue moon outing with my friends at settlers' cafe.

Surprisingly, the food there is good! Not those choppy food but it's good food. Staff is approachable if you have difficulties with the rules of the games as well.
Good place to go if you have a minimum party of 4. Lots of games to choose from.

For those who can't make it. Too bad. There's always a next time!

Matthew-Reilly "Temple"

Another book that I read and found it entertaining and enjoyable. Here it is, "Temple" by Matthew Reilly.
Read through the whole book in a day and a half. Mostly being read during enrichment. I am so glad that this book is with me the whole day or I will be so bored that I don't know what will I do to "Kill" the time off.

Here's the synopsis if you are interested in the content.

"Deep in the jungles of Peru, the race of the century is underway. A race to locate a legendary Incan idol an idol carved out of a strange kind of stone. A stone which in the late 20th century could be used as the basis for a terrifying new weapon. The US Army wants it at any cost but they are not alone....

The only clue to the idol's final resting place lies in a 400yearold manuscript. Enter Professor William Race, a brilliant young linguist, who is unwittingly recruited to translate the manuscript and lead the Army team to the idol. And so begins the mission that will lead Race and his companions to a mysterious stone temple hidden in the foothills of the Andes. A temple seething with menace and danger. But it is only when the temple is opened that Race and his team discover that they have broken a golden rule:

Some doors are meant to remain unopened."

Enjoy.

End of practicum.

It's a new part of my career, to start work as a BT soon. To celebrate the end of the practicum, it's eating time again with my wife!

First stop, Subway! Been craving for it for the past weeks and since it's on offer, why wait?

Here's wifey happily munching away!~

Then it's off to window shopping... the desire to buy overcame to "view", ended up buying a new shirt for my dear and a new track pants. (3/4 length).

Then rested nearby for a while before dinner time at Shokudou. This time, it's at city hall. As compared to the previous experience, this is a better shokudou. More food varieties and the way of cooking is much much better.

Some shots of the area where we were seated.

This time round, I ordered a Japanese Fish burger. The serving is super huge. I couldn't finish eating it... Here's some pictures of it, which I don't think do justice to it.

Deary Dear ate back her favourite, Pork Shabu Shabu. The soup base is delicious!

Arghh.. I am hungry again after posting this.
Damn!

Great weekend.

It's a great weekend today, reason being I've cleared all the obs and my assignments finally! It's really time to take a break..whew!

Hence, me and wife went to Orchard~
Ate at the "Kobayashi Hangul", which is located at the basement of Cineleisure. This is a mixture of Japanese and Korean food... Food's , considering it's like a kind of budget meal for your pocket.

Here's what I ate, "Saba" fish, chose it because it's a promotion item. Lol. >.< Wifey ate "Ginseng chicken"~ As you can see, the serving is quite large for a single person meal under $8.00. Not bad, I would say.~

Munch Time!
After eating, time to shop! Went to to buy some clothes for my wife, and got myself a pair of shoes as well! Yeah! Finally a new pair! Chose a colourful design...

My new shoe! SUPERSTAR II TL DOT
Saw a messanger bag by NIKE and it seemed nice, and most importantly, the green light by my wife, so...
I Grabbed it as well!

Freebies of the day! A cap! Yeah~
(It's a actually a Promotional item after getting some clothes)
What a fruitful day! Items for me and my wife! Yawhoo~

Photo Galore.

Too many backlogs of pictures in my D80 and my dear wifey isn't pleased I'm not updating my blog. So... here's some of it dear~.

A quick snap under the glaring sun.
DJ Min.
This is how I look after I took out the handsome suit. :(
On a certain weekend, we ate pizza! Here's the famous side dish, "spicy drumlets"!. Oh wow. It's really nice... yum yum.

Here comes the pizza! Hawaiian, which is our favourites! Slurp!

A cool chilling drink to quench our thirst, "mango with sprite".

On another weekends, its on to Vivocity! Tried the "Whitedog cafe" there. Lunch is better. They have set meals there, which is cheaper than the normal ala carte items.
Wife decided to order the breaded dory. Looks yummy! Only the serving is small...

Me, on the other hand, who loves burgers, ordered their white dog burger to give it a try. (This is expensive item, no set lunch included). It tastes good. The beef is very filling after this meal.
Do give it a try if you are a burger-fanatic.

Then, It was on to shokudo! The 'Marche concept. You walk in with a card and order everything on your own. Like a food court. Food wasn't that great and it's kinda expensive but the setting is nice, so here's some pictures of the exterior loacted at Somerset.

What fun weekends we have! Just love going out with my wife~
